Spa – Milano 2010:
The recce stopped by the snow !

The Glaubenbielen pass (1.611 m) is not yet open.
The first recce’s for the Spa-Milano trip have begun but some passes are still
closed. Some of them are only open a few weeks per annum and it will be
indisputably one of the key attractions of the journey which will be proposed to
you next June.

Watch the road on the navigation system !
The first leg is easy and very beautiful. Through the Belgian Ardennes, the
Luxemburg, Germany and France, varied landscapes and perfect secondary roads
will charm the drivers and their passenger(s).

A brand new hotel will await you in Mulhouse with its swimming pool, sauna and …
bar to exchange the first stories. The dinner will be, no doubt for this,
another exceptional event of this trip. Indeed, some pace-notes will lead you to
the parking of the “Cité de l’Automobile” where the largest collection of
Bugatti is waiting for us without forgetting some very beautiful Alfa Romeo as
well.
That will be your road next June !
The second leg, will be a mixture of passes and valleys. These last ones are
less typical because often occupied by local industries but the passage at the
top of places like the Simplon Pass will quickly make you forget the small Swiss
roads and their very limited speed. In the evening, external swimming pool on
the roof or the covered swimming pool, your choice, will help to relax before
walking to the landing stage to go up on the “San Gottardo” which will take us
on the Lugano Lake during the dinner.

Very beautiful sceneries
The last leg skirts Lugano Lake before moving towards Milan with in option, a
visit of Monza where it is reported that the Registro Italiano Alfa Romeo will
hold a club day. Beautiful cars to be admired, for sure.
For
the others, “en route” to the hotel located near the “Tangenziale” allowing a
rapid and simple access to the roads leaving Milan. Shopping or tourism during
this afternoon, it will be up to you.
On Thursday, we will go together to the clubs’ day in Arese for visiting the
Alfa Romeo museum. Once there, each one will establish its program according to
his affinities. The Italians having not communicated any particular program, it
will be the opportunity to visit the museum and to mingle with hundreds of
others “alfisti” coming from all over the world.
When the pass is closed, the train helps.

The roof swimming pool in Lugano for the early birds.
On Friday, the last organized day within the framework of our trip and before
the festivities of the centenary, we will go to Brescia to visit the museum of
the Mille Miglia and have lunch within this splendid place. In the afternoon, we
will drive until Verona to visit the collection Nicolis, less known, but which
conceals some treasures being worth the journey.

Our hotel in Milano will satisfy everyone.
A return and a free evening will close this program. Useless to say that the
camera, the bath suit and the sun cream should be in your luggage if you want to
take full advantage of what will remain a once in a live memory for an Alfisti.
See you soon,
The organization team.
